I have tested this on my only device - the Kobo Touch B - It is on FW 4.38.21908. It hopefully will work on others!
I don't know if this is common knowledge around here, but I could not find a post explaining how to disable the priority smartlinks (overdrive, Kobo plus and release notes). This is how I did it (For some of them)
1. Connect to your kobo (Any method that allows access to /mnt/onboard/)
2. Go to /mnt/onboard/.kobo/Kobo/
3. open the file "Kobo eReader.conf" on nano, or any other Good test editor which wont change things without telling you
4. Look at the section [OneStoreServices] and you should see
kobo_subscriptions_enabled=True
make it into kobo_subscriptions_enabled=False
This removed the annoying kobo plus one for me.
then there are these
kobo_superpoints_enabled=True
kobo_wishlist_enabled=True
and change them to false (False remember the capital at the start)
5. If you connected with USB ignore this
So that seems to remove the priority ones yet the Patch Remove kobo plus smartlinks does not seem to be working for the randomly chosen ones. Well It this helps then youre welcome :thumbsup:
